Happiness and fear
Happiness and fear went for a walk together.
Fear asked happiness, «Tell me, what is the supreme happiness for a human being?»
Happiness replied, «When a man loses himself, the boundaries of his ego disappear and he rises to the Unnamable.»
Fear nodded understandingly.
Then happiness asked fear, «What is the greatest fear of a human being?»
Fear replied, «That he could lose himself, that the boundaries of his ego could disappear, and that he might rise to the Unnamable.»
Happiness nodded understandingly—and smiling, they continued their walk.
